Sam Bailey Wins The X Factor

Wow, Sam Bailey has Won The X Factor and so she should have ! She is a fab Singer that is now one of my favourite singers of the whole of the ten years that the X Factor has been on the air ! Please read about her bellow !

Sam Bailey wins X Factor final

Host Dermot O'Leary congratulated Sam Bailey as this year's winner !

Sam Bailey wins X Factor

The prison warder, 36, received more than one million votes and thanked everyone for choosing her before performing her single Skyscraper.

Her mentor Sharon Osborne was tearful throughout much of Sunday's show.

Bailey and McDonald battled it out after teenager Luke Friend was voted out on Saturday after they performed at London's Wembley Arena.

When Bailey was shown her new CD single by host Dermot O'Leary, she was overwhelmed, but told the audience of 10,000 people: " I look thin! I can't believe it, thank you so much everybody."

McDonald added: "If I was getting beaten by anybody it would be Sam. I want to say thank you to everyone who has voted for me, I love you all."

Bailey has won a recording contract and will also support Beyonce on the UK leg of her Mrs Carter tour in February.

Bookmaker Coral said on Sunday night that Bailey has cost the UK's bookmakers more than £1 million after being the "most backed contestant in the history of the show".

Bailey said on Saturday: "I'm just so overwhelmed by the support. This has been last chance saloon for me for the whole process.

"It's been 20 years. It's been a long time coming and I've finally got here so thank you so much."

Sunday's show included a duet between X Factor judge and singer Gary Barlow and Sir Elton John - the two of them performed on adjoining grand pianos.

Sir Elton described both finalists as "humble people" and said he agreed to perform because "Gary's been a real friend for 20 years and when he picks up the phone you say yes, because I love him".

Katy Perry and One Direction also performed earlier in the show.

The finalists each duetted with established singers on Saturday. Bailey was joined on stage by Nicole Scherzinger as they performed And I Am Telling You from the musical Dreamgirls.

McDonald duetted with former Westlife singer Shane Filan, singing the Irish boy band's hit Flying Without Wings, while Friend and Ellie Goulding performing the singer's hit Anything Could Happen.

X Factor is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and to celebrate, some of the show's most renowned contestants including Jedward, Kitty Brucknell, Rylan Clark and Wagner performed a medley of songs.

Saturday's show also included performances from singer-songwriter Tom Odell and The Killers, but drew its lowest audience since its launch year in 2004.

The ITV talent show managed to pull an average audience of 8.5 million, that includes viewers catching-up on ITV+1. It was a million lower than the final Saturday last year. Lets hope that she has a great time and we wish her the best of luck for the future, Well done Sam we love you x

Biggin Hillbillies Blue grass / Country Acoustic band

Here we have something that I don't usually write about on this blog, But as an exception because they are so good, Here is the.....                   BIGGIN HILLBILLIES acoustic band from the Kent location  UK , After listening to them on Youtube, I must admit they are first class musicians indeed ! Please read about them bellow!

Biggin Hillbillies Kent based 5 piece bluegrass band playing country, Irish, jazz and 50's/60's pop for barn dance, square dance, wedding, party, pub, carnival

London, Kent, Surrey, Sussex

Barn Dance Band Square Dance Pub Gigs
Country Music Irish Music 50's/60's Pop
Party Music Wedding Music Music Festivals
Garden Parties Carnival Music Village Fetes

The Biggin Hillbillies were formed in 1998, the current line up is John McDonagh on Mandolin & vocals, Bob White on Banjo, Ray Butcher on guitar & vocals, Nye Davies on Bass and James Lin on fiddle.

Whilst their mainstream is bluegrass music, their varied repertoire of acoustic music includes country and folk numbers, 50’s and 60’s pop, Irish favourites and jazz standards. As well as bluegrass standards from Flatt & Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers & Bill Munroe they also include numbers from the likes of The Country Gentlemen, Banjo Dan Lindner and Don Reno, plus of course the ever requested ‘Duelling Banjos’ and ‘Foggy Mountain Breakdown’ featuring Bobs' unmistakeable bluegrass banjo style.

Their Country and Western music list draws on the hits of Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, John Denver, Jimmie Rodgers, Don Williams as well as lesser known items from the likes of Buck Owens and The Red Clay Ramblers. Irish music favourites such as ‘Whiskey in the Jar’, ‘Muirsheen Durkin’ and ‘The Masons Apron’ form cornerstones of their repertoire. They also include a few jazz standards like ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’, ‘Sweet Sue’ and ‘Bye Bye Blues’ in the list, often inspired by Bob’s in depth knowledge of old time favourites going back to his days of tuition from a ‘Black & White Minstrels’ banjo artist. Of course no gig would be complete without some vintage rock and pop numbers from Buddy Holly, The Beatles and other 50's/60's stars.

The boys have recently added two original numbers to their repertoire, ‘Billys Night Out’ (note this has been downsampled to allow quicker download) and ‘On This and Every Day’ penned by Bob and John respectively. Bob’s number is included on the bands first CD which can be reviewed by clicking the above link. The band is available for gigs throughout the South East and have performed at concerts, pub gigs, club events, private parties, barn dances, weddings, barbecues and outdoor fetes. They are very flexible and take a pride in making each gig a success. See the boys performing at the Bricklayers Arms, Chipstead YouTube - THE BIGGIN HILLBILLIES (blue grass rock n roll)

So there you have it, A great band that is entertaining and fun to listen to, Check them out on Youtube or go to their website on ....

Introducing the 960s cover band
THE RAPIERS, A rock'n'roll authentic sounding band from North London, They wear sharp suits and play authentic instruments and they sound great! So if you like an authentic sounding band to take you down memory lane, Then this is the band for you, If you like the sounds of the 60s, This band is for you!

What names would old boy bands have today ?

Have you ever thought about the boy bands what their names should be now ?  How about Boyzone, Perhaps they should now be called  Menzone, Or the Backstreet boys should be called The Backstreet Men, or Boys II Men should be Men II Gran dad's etc, Why do bands always choose names that are going to be out of date 10 years later ? When you think bands like Mc Fly and even The Rolling stones names will never be out of date, Now there is a thought!

Still no matter what the Band is called, You can't beat a good old fashioned Rock 'n ' Roll Band to get your ears working !
