Kill Kasper Rock Band

Let me introduce you to ...KILL KASPER ( Rock Band) I must say that I have listened to this band on Soundcloud and they sound great! They are like a cross between Kieser Chiefs and U2, Let me explain, Their vocals remind me of the Kieser Chiefs but the lead guitar also reminds me of U2, so you have the added bonus of better vocals than U2 and a great lead guitar along with a pounding rhythm and powerful drums, Well done lads for producing such a great sound! This is their short bio.

Kill Kasper are a 4 piece from Portsmouth, England, making loud, dirty rock music in a old ammunitions dump in a quiet part of the city.
We don't care if the music is fashionable or not and we aren't trying to be the next big thing. We're just making tunes we're passionate about and hope a few of you out there dig them too.
Kill Kasper are:
Jamie Kasper - Vocals, guitars
Paul Karuana - Lead Guitars
Matt Knight - Bass
Sean Kenneally - Drums & Keys
The debut EP, 'Stuck Between The Devil & The Blues In Drop C' was produced by Tom Loffman and recorded at Bryn Derwen Studios in Bethesda, Wales.

With their rich earthy sound, This band is hard to ignore , Once you start to listen you have to stay listening till the end of each tune, I would recommend them to any real rock fans any time! It just goes to show how Rock music has evolved in these present years!

I must certainly say that the music from this band is well written , Well produced, and we should hear a lot from this band in the near future, So do yourself a favour , Go to soundcloud  and have a listen to this band !

We should return to VINYL RECORDS !

Why is it that when we have something that really works well, Some one comes along with an idea that replaces it and spoils the original thing that it was at the beginning! Take The Record , Be it 45 or 33 or just 12", The record worked well for years and years, I personally think that the simple gramophone record is better than the CD as you can relate to it more by seeing it going around on the turntable and you can mix much better with vinyl than you can a cd! It also looks more attractive than the cd and seems to be more personal in the record collection box! It's ok for the boffins to say that the quality is better on a cd, But I do not agree with that, Play them side by side through a disco amp of good quality and the vinyl wins hands down with more output and better bass response, So come on record company's BRING BACK THE GRAMOPHONE RECORD !

A modern record deck still used by good dj's to this day!
And this is where it all started !

Bring back good musicians & Singers !

Support Great Musicians etc Not the little prats!
BB KING a true performer.

You know I love good music especially Rock music, But what really gets my goat is the little band (normally manufactured) that starts off really good, Then they become really famous and get too big for their boots, They think they are Gods gift!  I think arrogant bands and their members are right prats! There are so many great musicians and singers alike that are also very nice people and the fame has not gone to their heads, That's the kind of artists that are the best and last a lot longer than these little twerps! Lets keep our music industry more sensible in the future, Get rid of the BRATS!

How Music changes !

Have you noticed that music always goes out of style and the in a few years later returns to just as it was ?, It  doesn't matter what the music whether it is rap club pop or anything else, Rock Music and Rock'n'Roll will always remain in our musical taste when the other stuff is gone. It just goes to show that Rock Music and Rock'n'Roll music are the best ever invented and will always be in style!  When One direction, Littlemix, The Saturdays, Ed Shearan etc have fell by the wayside , Rock and Rock'n'Roll will still be around, Long Live Rock Music!

Long live Rock and Rock 'n' Roll Music!

16 Singer/songwriters called Kenny

Hi, I just had an E-mail from a fellow blog writer asking me to publish an article about 16 Singer/songwriters called Kenny, Well I am delighted that they asked me so here goes !

15 FAMOUS SINGER/SONGWRITERS NAMED KEN

  • AUTHOR: // CATEGORY: Kens

babyfaceThese 15 musicians were pretty easy for me to come up with since I listen to arguably too much music. Some people though don’t know for instance that Babyface’s given name is Kenneth. Several of the singers on this list won’t come as a surprise to most of you but you never know…
    1. Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds – A singer and performer in his own right, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds was also the creative mastermind behind a staggering number of hits through the 1990s and early 2000s. Known primarily for his work in R&B, Edmonds was also a ten-time Grammy winner and a hit producer.
    2. Kenny Rogers – Knowing when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em ensured that Kenny Rogers found a place among country music royalty’s most venerable. With more than 120 hit singles spanning several genres, this Houston native is definitely one of pop culture’s most recognizable and beloved icons.
    3. Ken Block – Vocalist and co-songwriter for the hit rock band Sister Hazel, based out of Gainesville, Florida, Ken Block has seen moderate success with his band over the years. His distinctive voice and the efforts of the rest of Sister Hazel have allowed the group to continue touring and releasing albums for the better part of two decades.
    4. Kenny Wayne Shepherd – A blues musician from Shreveport, Louisiana, Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a songwriter, singer and prodigiously talented guitarist. Working with some of the greatest names in the blues genre, Shepherd has enjoyed unprecedented success within blues circles for an artist so young.
    5. Kenny Chesney – Finding a country music fan that isn’t familiar with Kenny Chesney would be a difficult feat, indeed. Soaring to a hugely popular level with his country-boy-meets-Jimmy-Buffett beach bum hit singles, Chesney routinely sells out arenas and releases chart-topping albums.
    6. Kenneth Nixon – The lead singer and co-writer for underground favorites Framing Hanley, Kenneth Nixon’s indie style makes him a heartthrob frontman with serious musical chops.
    7. Ken Ring – A pioneer in the genre of Swedish rap, Ken Ring was born in Kenya, raised in Sweden and is an astoundingly prolific artist. Scads of albums, singles and independent mixtapes are accredited to this Swedish star.
    8. Kenneth Cope – Composing and performing religious music for members of the Latter Day Saints church, Kenneth Cope is a popular musician in LDS and Spiritual music circles.
    9. Kenneth “K.K.” Downing – The guitarist and back-up singer for the iconic heavy metal outfit Judas Priest, K.K. Downing also had a hand in writing many of the bands chart-topping, seminal-to-the-genre hits.
    10. Kenneth McKellar – A popular Scottish tenor trained at the Royal College of Music, Kenneth McKellar
    11. William “Big Kenny” Alphin – One half of the rambunctious country duo Big & Rich, Big Kenny Alphin is a singer and songwriter behind hits like “Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy,” and “Holy Water.” He’s also a figurehead of the Muzik Mafia movement, which aims to gain exposure for talented and unsigned Nashville musicians of any genre.
    12. Kenny Lattimore – The popular R&B singer behind hits like “For You” and “Never Too Busy,” Kenny Lattimore was also a member of the group Maniquin. He’s married to songstress Chante Moore; the two have one son together.
    13. Kenny Loggins – Originally one half of Loggins and Messina, Kenny Loggins may be more easily recognizable as the voice behind “Footloose” from the movie of the same name, and hit tracks from the Top Gun soundtrack “Danger Zone” and “Playing With the Boys.”
    14. Kenny Thomas – A soul singer from Islington, London, Kenny Thomas was nominated for two BRIT Awards, released two chart-topping albums and enjoyed a stint on ITV’s Hit Me Baby One More Time singing contest.
    15. Kenny Washington – A New Orleans native, Kenny Washington is an accomplished vocalist. Though he began his career as a gospel singer, he eventually found his niche as a jazz and blues vocalist.

I must say a big thank you to Kenny Myers for this information , Bless you Kenny!

Slippery when wet Rock Band .USA.

Here is a rock band that that followed me on twitter last year, I have finally got around to reviewing them, Well here goes!  Slippery When Wet  is the name of the band, And I must say they do sound good, Nice solid drums, Precise guitar playing and nice bass, The only thing that I think would improve them is to turn down the echo on the vocals, This Girl has got a nice sexy voice but too much echo spoils it a bit, Apart from that they are a great Rock Band!

         Home town :Temp,AZ,US
         Genres:Rock/Classic   Rock/Alternative  Rock.
Members: Linda Vee Sado,Vox,Rhythm guitar,Composer etc,
Count Von Shadow,Lead guitar.

I think we will be hearing more from this band in the future , Their sound is unique to them and the type of music that they play is hard to discribe but make no mistake , They are GREAT!

In memory of Buddy Holly & Joe Meek who both died on Feb 3rd

Hi , Once again we remember two pioneers of pop music to commemorate their death here is the story of  BUDDY HOLLY & Joe Meek who both died on Feb 3rd.

The first was Mr Buddy Holly who died on Feb 3rd 1959  in a plane crash along with Richie Valence  , The Big Bopper , It was a great loss to the music industry !  Buddy Holly influenced most of the pop and Rock musicians of the 1960s & 1970s including myself, I still play a couple of his songs even now! Along with his backing band  The Crickets , He took over the music scene with songs like  Crying Waiting hoping, Peggy Sue, Peggy Sue got married, Oh boy, Just to mention a few of his fabulous songs, Buddy Holly will always be remembered for his unique sounding voice and music style!

Left, Buddy Holly
Right  Buddy Holly and the Crickets.

The next great pioneer to mention is Mr Joe Meek ( Robert George Meek) Who was the founder of RGM Sound  & Meeksville who built his own recording studio in a flat above a shop that sold handbags and umbrella's etc called Shentons at 304 Holloway Road N7  He has worked with many artists including Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Billy J Kramer, Peter J and the Jay walkers, The Checkmates, Heinz Bert, Chase Hodges of (Chas& Dave),The Honeycombs, The Outlaws, Screaming Lord Such, The Blue Rondos, Geoff Goddard, Just to mention a few, The list goes on and on! Joe Meek was mostly known for TELSTAR by The Tornado's , The record was a number 1 hit for the band and was written by Joe Meek himself, He woke up in the middle of the night with the tune in his head , He got up out of bed in the middle of the night just to sing it on to his tape machine, The rest is history,  Other songs were Just like Eddie by Heinz, Then there was songs like Johnny Remember me & Wild Wind both by John Leyton, A tribute to Buddy Holly by Mike Berry & the Outlaws, Have I the right by The Honeycombs etc etc as I said the list goes on and on , Joe Meek finally died from gunshot  wounds in his studio stairway on Feb 3rd 1967 when he was supposedly committed suicide (disputable). He will always be remembered for his unique sound that he called the bathroom sound , His techniques  inspired many recording artists and studios alike, The legacy lives on. There is also a picture of the late Lonnie Donegan in the RGM sound studio ( bellow)

The Honeycombs, Their record  Have I the right was a great Hit for the band who are still gigging to this day!

Bellow , Heinz  on his own after leaving the Tornado's to make a solo career, Just like Eddie was his biggest hit!

Lonnie Donegan  one of the many who the legendary Joe Meek Recorded, Does your chewing gum lose its flavour, Rock Island Line, Don't you Rock me Dady'O  were just some of his songs.

The Tornado's Had their first no 1 hit with Telstar, Other tunes were  Globetrotter, Life on Venus, The Ice cream man, Robot  and many more , All were recorded at Joe Meek's  RGM Studio.

This plaque is outside the studio window at 304 Holloway road where Joe Meek made history with his recordings !
